Derrick Carter Telefunken

Derrick Carter is without doubt one of the best DJs in the world, and it is with great pleasure that Telefunken and DC Sessions are bringing him to The Berkeley Suite on Saturday 5th May!!

Being recognised as one of the true pinnacles to come out of the mid 90′s Chicago house music wave, Derrick Carter began his love for music and DJing at the age of 9! During his teenage years he was becoming a more recognised figure within the Windy City’s underground dance scene….it wasn’t long after that, that he was getting regular slots at the legendary Shelter, and Chicago’s infamous Smart Bar.

Derrick’s style of music is mainly rooted in house, but an amazing ability at reading the crowd, he seamlessly drifts into disco and more tech sounds with ease. Working alongside fellow DJ Mark Farina and Chris Nazuka, Derrick established himself as an international figure in the underground dance music scene, when they released they’re Symbol and Instruments EP way back in 1988!

Since then, Carter’s refusal to accept conventional standards and simply do his own thing, has seen him jet set round the world, rocking crowds with his boompty boomp sound.

This an extremely rare opportunity to see Derrick perform out with his usual Glasgow haunts, so best get there early as the last DC Sessions filled up very quickly!
